Providing meteorological services of all kinds and purposes in the local and international arenas in accordance with local and international laws, regulations, and procedures in the fullest manner that Sudan adheres to.
Organizing the monitoring and capture of meteorological information, its analysis, the issuance of forecasts of its behavior, its dissemination, distribution and exchange.
Entering into international, regional and bilateral agreements with foreign countries in the field of meteorology and reviewing the implementation of the provisions of those agreements in accordance with the laws regulating this.
Work to represent the country externally in the field of meteorology, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Concluding bilateral agreements with the scientific authorities at home and abroad.
Training and preparing the specialists, technicians and administrators required for the various aspects of the Authority’s activities in the field of meteorology.
Coordination with the national air, sea and land transport institutions to implement meteorological policies aimed at securing their fleets, in accordance with the applicable local and international regulations.
Preparing the necessary studies on the causes of accidents and disasters that occur in Sudan as a result of weather changes, forecasting their occurrence, and working to avoid them.
Encouraging the study of meteorological sciences and its arts and working to spread them in Sudan.
