Brief :
The Dams Implementation Unit was established to complement the role of the Merowe Dam Execution Unit under Republican Decree No. (217) for the year 2005 AD on the eighteenth of September 2005, which was issued by Marshal Omar Hassan Ahmad Al-Bashir, President of the Republic. The decision stipulates the establishment of an alternative unit for the Merowe Dam Implementation Unit called the "Dam Implementation Unit", provided that all fixed and movable property and rights and obligations of the Merowe Dam Implementation Unit shall be devolved to it, and all workers in the Merowe Dam Implementation Unit shall be assigned to it and their rights.

Establishing an integrated system for storing and operating the available water resources in all its forms to secure and provide the requirements of the operational plans for the various needs of irrigation and drinking water with modern scientific methods
Mission

- Efficient operation of dams implemented by modern scientific methods in order to secure the requirements of the agricultural and service sector for the community.
- The success of the irrigation and agricultural projects within the agricultural initiative and the treatment of the severe shortage of water imports by storing water in dams and using it according to the plans set for them.
- The use of scientific and technological methods in the field of sustainability and operation of existing dams, construction of large and small dams, and benefit from the experience of developed countries and scientific development using modern technologies.
